Tanabata (七夕, meaning “Evening of the seventh”), also known as the Star Festival, is a Japanese festival originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival. It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar.

  1. What a beautiful way to celebrate love! Best wishes for Japanese fans during Tanabata.
And where is love, inevitable must be present PSH, who brilliantly embodied so many characters in love.
Very beautiful are the visual creations. Congratulations!
A & H Thanks for posting. For me it was a joy to find another festival in Asia.

  2. Love is an incredible powerful word.
Love is an unconditional affection with no limits or conditions:completely loving someone. Love involves wanting to show affection and devotion to each other .
When you are in love , you want to be together , because without the person you love, life is incomplete.
As in many other corners of the world, in Japan too, Tanabata is celebrating love, is celebrating the meeting of two lovers , who being separated , , can meet again, on July 7, and can be happy. On this day Japanese people , in the name of love, are writing wishes on small strips of paper [ tanzaku – paper] , hanging them on bamboo branches, with hope that they’ll come true .
As PSH is so much loved in Japan , his fans have created wonderful visuals, MVs, as strips of papers, dedicated to PSH on Tanabata , as their wishes to meet their idol everyday , not only on Tanabata. And we all know the permanent effort of the Japanese fans to meet him ,even on good or bad weather,
May all the Japanese fans’ wishes written on their strip papers , on Tanabata, come true!

Thanks A. and H. for sharing this wonderful festival of love, in Japan, Tanabata.
