“Iljimae” will start re-broadcasting on Nippon Television Plus from September 23, 2015.
The broadcast times are really funny, starting with Episode 1 on September 23, going on to Episode 2 on September 24 and Episodes 3 and 4 on September 25, back to Episode 1 on September 30, and then Episodes 5 and 6 on the same day.
We hope Japanese fans can understand the broadcast schedule.

We usually call our Sunday post “Sunday Delight” — to entertain you.
But this one is “no delight”, not because we’re not delighted to see PSH in “Iljimae” (the parts without PSH are totally negligible – use FF on your remote^^), but because his Sihoo is always so melancholy and moody. Someone calculated PSH smiled only 3 times in the entire drama. But even if he doesn’t smile, he’s still so gorgeous!
This is of course PSH in “Iljimae” (2008) where he plays a character specially tailor-made for him called Sihoo. The other actors are featured too, but we have eyes for only PSH. He is second lead in this drama, but does anyone have any objections when we say he outshines the male lead?
This new “Iljimae” MV is created by a Japanese fan – Many thanks!
“Iljimae’s” Sihoo is one of our favorite PSH characters — his fate so poignant, his love so hopeless. His sad eyes, his half-smile (not much in evidence in drama) all tug at our heartstrings.
PSH’s female co-star Han Hyo Joo has won Best Actress (for her performance in “Cold Eyes”) at the recent 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards and PSH was not even nominated for Best New Actor. When will PSH’s turn come?
As you all know, Park Si Hoo’s character in “Iljimae” is called Sihoo. And this Sihoo un-coincidentally has many of the real-life Si Hoo’s character traits. There is also a certain tragic quality about the “Iljimae” Sihoo that we used to think is irrelevant to our PSH until the recent unfortunate event.
This nearly 15-minute video of excerpts from “Iljimae” contains many of the poignant scenes, now even more heartbreaking when viewed in the light of what happened to our PSH.
But we still hope you will enjoy this Sunday treat.
MV of “Iljimae” created by a Korean fan – Many thanks! You all know PSH’s character in “Iljimae” is called Si Hoo, and he has many qualities of the real-life Si Hoo and one character trait that the original does not have — a tinge of sadness, at least not before 2013.02.15.
If you’ve seen Park Si Hoo’s 2008 drama “Iljimae”, you’ll know his character’s name is also Si Hoo. Si Hoo is very much like PSH — sad, silent, strong. That scene where he teaches Eun Chae to shoot is only one of 3 times he smiles in the entire drama. PSH is absolutely gorgeous in “Iljimae” (with or without clothes), and, although he is only #2 actor, he steals a lot of scenes from the buffoonish Lee Jun Ki. Enjoy!
In 2008 when “Iljimae” was all the rage, we knew nothing about the story, since we didn’t watch Korean dramas then. All we knew was that the actor #2 had the face of an angel and the body of the devil, the air of a scholar and the skills of a warrior. These were enough to wow the audience. Added to these the snow scene with all its poetic splendor really created an uproar. Everybody who watched it fell – felled by the #2 actor’s beauty, elegance, and charisma – everybody prostrating before his hanbok-clad figure….. Only later did we know his name was Park Si Hoo (and his character’s name in “Iljimae” was Si Hoo.)
